What this bill would do
The "Safety is Not For Sale Act" prevents the bundling of optional motor vehicle safety features with non-safety convenience or luxury features. Sellers must offer these safety features either as standard trim equipment or as separate options. Additionally, the cost of any optional safety feature must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed separately from non-safety features. The Federal Trade Commission and State attorneys general are tasked with enforcing these rules.
