What this bill would do

This bill, known as the "Application FEES Act," proposes to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. The primary purpose is to allow fees required for a beneficiary to apply for admission to eligible educational institutions to be paid using a 529 plan. This change would modify Section 529(e)(3)(A) of the code. The new rule would apply to distributions made after the act is enacted.
