What this bill would do
The Community Bank Regulatory Tailoring Act aims to index various statutory thresholds to account for economic changes. The bill updates specific dollar amounts within several financial laws, including the Bank Holding Company Act and the Dodd-Frank Act. These adjustments are based on the growth of the United States gross domestic product. To ensure these numbers stay current, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System will perform adjustments every five years. This process begins on April 1, 2031, and continues every five years thereafter.
