What this bill would do

This bill, titled the ``Greenland Annexation and Statehood Act'', authorizes the President to take steps to annex or acquire Greenland as a United States territory. The President is empowered to engage in negotiations with the Kingdom of Denmark to achieve this goal. Once the acquisition is complete, the President must submit a report to Congress regarding necessary changes to Federal law. This report aims to expedite the process of admitting Greenland as a State. Admission is contingent upon the adoption of a constitution that Congress finds to be republican in form and consistent with the United States Constitution.
