What this bill would do
This bill is called the "Reverse Transfer Efficiency Act of 2025". It proposes to change the General Education Provisions Act to allow for the release of education records. Specifically, it allows records of postsecondary coursework and credits to be sent back to a school where a student was previously enrolled. This is done to help the student apply those credits toward a recognized postsecondary credential. This process requires the student to give written consent before receiving the credential.
