What this bill would do
This bill directs the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to create a single, uniform system for medical provider credentialing and privileging. The Secretaries must first submit a report detailing the scope, data, and interoperability of their current systems. Following the report, they are required to select one existing system to serve both Departments. The chosen system must be able to import and share provider information. Finally, the Secretaries must certify that the new joint system is implemented and operational.
