What this bill would do
This bill, titled the ``Afghan SIV Termination and Security Review Act of 2025'', seeks to end the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa program. It repeals the existing program and prevents any new applications from being filed. Additionally, all unadjudicated applications currently pending will be closed and not processed. The Act requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to conduct a comprehensive security reassessment of every current SIV beneficiary. Based on these reviews, the government may rescind status and initiate removal proceedings for those found ineligible or threatening to national security. Finally, any remaining funds for the program will be moved to the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.
