It requires the Secretary of the department in which the Coast Guard is operating to issue a regulation for nearshore and offshore shipping safety fairways. This regulation must be issued not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of the Act. The fairways must include a minimum appropriate width of not less than the width proposed in a specific 2024 Coast Guard proposed rule.
