What this bill would do

This bill proposes amendments to the Food Security Act of 1985. The primary goal is to increase funding for the conservation stewardship program. It sets the annual funding for this program at $1,800,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2031. Additionally, the bill directs a transfer of $5,020,000,000 from unobligated balances of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. These funds would be given to the Secretary of Agriculture to carry out the conservation stewardship program using the Commodity Credit Corporation.
