What this bill would do

This bill, known as the "CBO Oversight Act," aims to amend the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974. It would require the Director of the Congressional Budget Office to provide testimony at annual hearings. These hearings would be held by the House and Senate Committees on the Budget. The Director must provide testimony at two hearings at each committee per calendar year upon the request of the chair. These hearings can cover any issue the committees find appropriate, including the accuracy of baseline projections and estimates.
