What this bill would do
The "Manage Your Data and Allow Only Trusted Access Act of 2025," also known as the "MY DATA Act of 2025," stops covered entities from preventing people from using cloaked data or de-identified data. The Federal Trade Commission is responsible for enforcing these rules. Certain groups, such as government entities and specific nonprofits helping victims of missing and exploited children, are not considered covered entities. There is also an exception for covered entities acting as service providers.
