What this bill would do

The Immigration Document Delivery Accountability Act of 2025 requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to create a rule within 180 days of the law passing. This rule ensures that documents regarding an individual's immigration status sent via the United States Postal Service include a trackable accountability measure. These measures can be a Postal Service barcode, a tracking number, or a requirement for the recipient to sign for the mail. This requirement only applies to documents sent by mail from United States Citizenship and Immigration Services facilities. It does not apply to documents handed to people in person.
