Potential Positive Impacts for People
- Limiting Federal Funding: Section 2 states that unobligated Federal funds would be rescinded and no new funds would be expended for New York City if Zohran Mamdani is mayor. This could be viewed as positive by those who believe federal money should be moved away from "Anti-National Interests" as suggested by the short title in Section 1.
Potential Negative Impacts for People
-
Loss of All Federal Funding: Section 2(1) rescinds all unobligated Federal funds available for New York, New York, for any purpose. This could negatively impact the city by removing money already allocated for various needs.
-
Ban on Future Spending: Section 2(2) prohibits any Federal funds from being obligated or expended for any purpose to New York, New York. This could create a burden for the people of New York City by cutting off all federal financial support.
