What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "DOD Entrepreneurial Innovation Act," seeks to amend title 10 of the United States Code. It requires the Secretary of each military department to identify specific research programs from the Small Business Innovation Research or Small Business Technology Transfer programs. These chosen programs would be designated as "Entrepreneurial Innovation Projects." The act mandates the creation of advisory panels to recommend these programs based on specific criteria. Once designated, these programs are to be included in future-years defense budgets and programming proposals. Finally, the Secretary of Defense must provide Congress with an annual progress report on these designated programs.
