What this bill would do
The "Star-Spangled Summit Act of 2026" directs the Secretary of Agriculture to issue a special use permit for a flagpole bearing the United States flag at Kyhv Peak Lookout Point. This permit covers the installation, operation, maintenance, and removal of the flagpole for a 10-year period. The permit can be granted to specific individuals who previously applied or practiced displaying the flag, or to a qualified person in Utah County. The Secretary may impose terms to ensure proper care and can renew permits every 10 years. Additionally, the act exempts the permit holder from certain land use and cost recovery fees.
