What this bill would do
This Act, known as the "DUMP Red Tape Act," directs the Chief Counsel for Advocacy of the Small Business Administration to create a Red Tape Hotline. The hotline is designed to receive notifications from small entities regarding the burden of complying with agency rules, guidance, or policies. The Chief Counsel must establish a website and various communication methods for these submissions within 180 days. Additionally, the Chief Counsel is required to submit annual reports to the Small Business Administration Administrator and Congress. These reports must include details on the most frequent notifications, the affected industries, and the specific agencies involved. Finally, the reports must include recommendations for reducing burdens and a summary of actions taken to address them.
