What this bill would do
This bill is called the Homecare for Seniors Act. It changes the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to let people use money from their health savings accounts for certain home care expenses. To qualify, a contract must provide three or more specific daily living or medication services in the recipient's home. The services must be provided by a licensed or state-compliant service provider and cannot be between related parties. These changes apply to taxable years beginning after the date of the enactment of the act. Finally, the act requires a public awareness campaign about these tax-free distributions.
