What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "Fairness in Vineyard Data Act," directs the Secretary of Agriculture to oversee new grape production data collection. The Secretary, through the National Agricultural Statistics Service, must conduct a nationwide survey on grape production within one year. This survey is required to cover total acreage as well as production, utilization, and acreage by type, variety, county, and year planted. Following the initial survey, the results must be made available on the National Agricultural Statistics Service website. Additionally, the Secretary must annually publish data for the five States with the highest grape production for three years following the initial survey.
