What this bill would do
This bill proposes the creation of the "Tariff Response And Damages to Exports Fund," known as the "TRADE Fund." The President can deposit revenues from specific import duties into this fund. The Secretary of Agriculture would then use these funds to make payments to agricultural producers facing trade-related market disruptions. These disruptions include decreased exports, foreign trade barriers, or increased production costs. The Secretary is required to submit annual reports to specific congressional committees regarding the fund's activity. The authority of this fund is set to end on September 30, 2030.
