What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "Space Launch Noise Mitigation Study Act," directs the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment to study a potential grant program. The goal of this study is to determine the feasibility of assisting communities affected by noise from Department of Defense space launch activities. The study must be completed within one year of the Act's enactment. It includes looking at the costs of funds, geographic eligibility, and noise mitigating technologies. Additionally, the study should consider ways for the Space Force to work better with communities and establish outreach programs.
