What this bill would do
The COUNTER Act aims to protect United States assets and the nation from incursions. It modifies existing law regarding the mitigation of threats from unmanned aircraft systems or unmanned aircraft. The bill allows the Secretary of Defense to delegate authority to combatant commanders or other officials to take action against these threats. It also includes provisions for remote identification and coordination with other Federal agencies. Additionally, the Act establishes exemptions from certain information disclosures.
