What this bill would do
The USCP Empowerment Act of 2025 authorizes the United States Capitol Police to take action against threats from unmanned aircraft systems. This authority allows the Capitol Police Board to mitigate credible threats to the safety or security of covered Capitol Police facilities or assets. Personnel may detect, track, warn, disrupt, seize, or destroy these aircraft systems. The bill requires coordination with the Secretary of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration. It also establishes privacy protections and mandates regular reports to Congress.
