What this bill would do

This bill is titled the "America--Israel AI Cooperation Act." It directs the Secretary of Commerce to modify a specific interim rule regarding the "Framework for Artificial Intelligence Diffusion." The goal is to include Israel in the list of countries covered by the amendment to Supplement No. 5 to part 740 of title 15, Code of Federal Regulations. This modification would require the Secretary of Commerce, through the Undersecretary of Commerce for Industry and Security, to include Israel in that list. By doing so, exports of certain items to Israel would be subject to the same requirements and exceptions as other countries already included in that supplement.
