What this bill would do
This bill, known as the ``Ralph David Abernathy, Sr. National Historic Site Act'', proposes the establishment of a new national historic site in the State of Georgia. The site would become a unit of the National Park System to preserve and interpret the history of the Reverend Dr. Abernathy and the West Hunter Street Baptist Church. The Secretary of the Interior must determine that enough land has been acquired before the site is officially established. The Secretary is authorized to acquire land through donation, purchase from willing sellers, or exchange. Once established, the site will be administered under the laws applicable to National Park System units.
