What this bill would do

The Honor and Hire Veterans Act of 2025 proposes changes to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. It aims to increase the work opportunity credit specifically for qualified veterans. Under this bill, the credit for a qualified veteran would be 50 percent of qualified first-year wages, compared to 40 percent for all other cases. Additionally, the bill increases the limitations on wages that can be taken into account. These changes would apply to individuals who begin work after the Act is enacted.
