The Transportation Equity Act seeks to re-establish the Transportation Equity Committee. This advisory committee will provide independent advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Transportation regarding transportation equity and interdisciplinary issues. The committee is tasked with developing a strategic plan and evaluating the Department's work in connecting people to economic opportunities and revitalizing communities. Members will represent various stakeholders, including academia, industry, and Tribal Governments. The committee is required to meet at least twice a year in public, accessible locations.
