What this bill would do
The Information and Communication Technology Strategy Act requires the Secretary of Commerce to analyze the economic competitiveness of the information and communication technology supply chain. The Secretary must submit a report identifying critical technologies, industrial capacity, and dependencies on untrusted vendors. Following this, a whole-of-Government strategy must be developed to ensure the competitiveness of trusted vendors. This strategy should include recommendations for strengthening Federal resources and addressing market barriers. Finally, a report containing this strategy must be submitted to relevant Congressional committees.
