What this bill would do
The Women Veterans Cancer Care Coordination Act aims to expand the Breast and Gynecologic Oncology System of Excellence at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The bill directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish Regional Breast Cancer and Gynecologic Cancer Care Coordinators at each Veteran Integrated Services Network. These coordinators will manage care for eligible veterans diagnosed with breast or gynecologic cancer or certain precancerous conditions. The role includes coordinating care between Department clinicians and community providers, monitoring health outcomes, and providing vital medical information to veterans. Additionally, the Secretary must submit a detailed report on health outcomes and care timeliness to Congress. The act also extends certain limits on payments of pension.
