What this bill would do

This bill, known as the "Aligning SEC Regulations for the World Bank's International Development Association Act," aims to change how securities issued by the International Development Association are treated. It seeks to grant these securities the same exemptions from securities laws that other multilateral development banks in which the United States is a member already receive. The Act would amend the International Development Association Act to include these exemptions for securities and guarantees. It also requires the Association to file annual and other reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Additionally, the Securities and Exchange Commission would have the authority to suspend these exemptions after consulting with a specific advisory council.
