The AI Accountability Act directs the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information to conduct a study regarding accountability measures for artificial intelligence systems. This study includes analyzing how these measures affect communications networks, the digital divide, and cybersecurity risks. The Assistant Secretary is also tasked with examining how the term "trustworthy" is defined and used. To gather input, the Assistant Secretary must hold public meetings with relevant stakeholders. Finally, reports containing the results of the study, meeting feedback, and recommendations must be submitted to specific Congressional committees within 18 months.
