What this bill would do

This bill, known as the "Agricultural and Forestry Hauling Efficiency Act," aims to amend title 23 of the United States Code. It seeks to increase the maximum gross vehicle weight for specific agricultural vehicles on the Interstate System within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Under this act, the Commonwealth of Virginia could allow certain vehicles to operate via special permit if they do not exceed s 90,000 pounds. These "covered agricultural vehicles" include those transporting unprocessed crops used for food, feed, or fiber. Additionally, the definition includes raw or unfinished forest products such as logs, pulpwood, green lumber, biomass, or wood chips.
