What this bill would do

This bill, known as the "No More Funding for NPR Act of 2025," aims to stop all Federal funding for National Public Radio. It prohibits the government from providing money directly or indirectly to NPR or its successor organizations. This includes preventing public broadcast stations from using Federal funds to pay dues to or buy programming from them. Additionally, the bill permanently rescinds any unspent Federal funds intended for NPR for the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years. However, an exception is made for the dissemination of urgent public safety information during FEMA disaster response activities.
