What this bill would do
The Support for Universities and Colleges to Champion the Educational Success of Survivors Act of 2026 establishes a grant program for institutions of higher education. This program implements patient-centered academic counseling services and other supports for student survivors of sexual assault and other violence. Eligible institutions can apply for competitive 5-year grants funded through authorized appropriations. Priority for these grants is given to institutions with a history of Title IX violations, community colleges, and minority-serving institutions. Grant funds can be used for re-entry assistance, faculty and administrator training, professional development, academic accommodations, mental health services, and wrap-around service funds. Participating institutions and the Secretary must ultimately submit reports detailing the graduation and re-enrollment rates of student survivors.
