What this bill would do
The "Badge-to-Business Act" amends the Small Business Act to help qualified career law enforcement officers get express loans. It generally prevents the Administrator from collecting a guarantee fee for these loans starting January 1, 2027. To qualify, an individual must have at least 10 years of service as a career law enforcement officer. Additionally, the officer must not be under a pending criminal investigation or administrative proceeding for official misconduct.
