What this bill would do

The Presidential Tax Accountability and Audit Integrity Act seeks to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. It prohibits the Secretary from entering into or giving effect to any "covered instrument" that affects federal tax matters for the President or their related persons. These instruments include agreements, orders, or waivers made while an individual is serving as President. The bill also requires the Secretary to submit and make public reports disclosing the identities of affected taxpayers. Additionally, it establishes rules to prevent the expiration of tax assessment periods for certain prior instruments.
