What this bill would do
The Data Center Resource Disclosure Act requires the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information to conduct an annual survey. This survey asks data center operators in the United States to voluntarily provide information on their energy and water consumption from the previous year. The Assistant Secretary must also allow the public and specific organizations to submit comments. Results will be published on the National Telecommunications and Information Administration website using an interactive map. Additionally, the Assistant Secretary will report recommendations to Congress for improving data center regulation and transparency.
