What this amendment would do
Mrs. Shaheen, along with Ms. Hassan, submitted amendment SA 973 to be proposed for the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a reserve fund relating to securing all land borders at the end of title III. It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
This change supports efforts to comprehensively secure all U.S. land borders to address migration, controlled substances, or contraband. Specifically, it may include:
- Deployment of personnel, assets, or technology to aid personnel at the Northern Border.
- Programs and grants to help state and local law enforcement agencies assist federal agencies.
- 2/20/2025
- 1 Cosponsor added.
