What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 960, which is an amendment intended to be proposed for the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025 and levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting community safety and prohibiting any action that would reduce resources for fentanyl interdiction and local law enforcement.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This can be done for legislation relating to supporting community safety and prohibiting any action that would reduce resources for fentanyl interdiction and local law enforcement, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
