What this amendment would do
Mr. Cruz submitted this amendment, labeled SA 953, to the concurrent resolution on the budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025.
What It Aims to Change
-
The amendment adds a new section to title III that sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to prohibiting federal funding from being used to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise budget allocations and make other adjustments for legislation relating to providing quality education for the children of the United States.
-
This legislation may include prohibiting or limiting federal funding from being used to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, or to compel teachers or students to affirm diversity, equity, and inclusion teachings in pre-kindergarten programs, elementary schools, or secondary schools.
-
The allowed adjustments apply as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
