What this amendment would do
Mr. Cruz submitted amendment numbered SA 952 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for the United States Government. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to school choice at the end of title III.
What It Aims to Change or Add
This amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to revise budget allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These adjustments can be made for legislation relating to providing quality education for the children of the United States.
Specifically, the amendment aims to add provisions that may include expanding educational opportunities for students to attend a private, public, homeschool, or religious school.
These changes are permitted provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over either the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
