What this amendment would do

Mr. King submitted amendment numbered SA 949. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the concurrent resolution relating to recognizing the importance of the alliance between the United States and Canada, which is built upon shared interests in trade and economic stability.

What It Aims to Change or Add

  • It adds a new section to the end of title III of the concurrent resolution for a deficit-neutral reserve fund.
  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
  • It permits the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to recognizing the importance of the alliance between the United States and Canada, built upon shared interests in trade and economic stability.
  • It requires that such legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
