What this amendment would do
This is amendment SA 935, submitted by Mr. Hickenlooper. The purpose of this amendment is to protect funding for our kids by creating a specific rule in the Senate against cutting Medicaid money that goes to school-based health centers.
- It adds a point of order to the bill.
- It targets any legislation that would reduce Medicaid funding, which currently helps fund 90 percent of all school-based health centers.
- It requires a strict three-fifths vote of the Senators to bypass this protection or to overturn a ruling upholding it.
