What this amendment would do
Mr. Hickenlooper submitted SA 927, which proposes adding a new section to title III of S. Con. Res. 7.
-
The amendment creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to electric grid reliability.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and adjust the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These changes are for legislation related to preventing electricity blackouts and improving electricity reliability.
-
This can include upgrading the transmission infrastructure of the United States or speeding the siting and permitting of such infrastructure.
-
The changes are allowed only if the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
