What this amendment would do
Mr. Hickenlooper submitted SA 926, which is an amendment intended to be proposed to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to electric grid reliability at the end of title III.
Changes and Additions to the Bill
This amendment allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These revisions and adjustments can be made for legislation relating to maintaining United States dominance in artificial intelligence. This may include:
-
Upgrading the transmission infrastructure of the United States.
-
Speeding siting and permitting with respect to transmission infrastructure.
These changes are allowed only by the amounts provided in such legislation for those purposes, and provided that such legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
