What this amendment would do

Mr. Lee submitted amendment SA 915 to set up a spending-neutral reserve fund.

  • The purpose of the amendment is to eliminate Federal funding for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. and its affiliates in order to reduce the federal deficit.

  • It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change certain budget allocations and adjustments.

  • These changes can be made for legislation relating to cutting off federal money to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates, as long as that legislation does not raise new revenue and does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2029 or through 2034.
