What this amendment would do
Mr. Sanders put forward SA 903 to deal with the budget. Plain and simple, this amendment sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund. That just means it creates a special financial space to shift money around without adding to our national debt between the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
What It Aims to Change and Add
- Adds a new section to the end of title III of the concurrent resolution.
- Gives the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate the power to change and adjust financial allocations, aggregates, appropriate levels, and the pay-as-you-go ledger.
- Targets legislation related to redirecting wasteful defense spending.
- Focuses on cutting waste, fraud, and abuse at the Pentagon.
- Puts money toward expanding health care for veterans.
- Requires Medicare to cover dental, vision, and hearing.
