What this amendment would do

Mrs. Murray submitted this amendment to the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government.

The purpose of the amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to preventing harm to pregnant, nursing, and postpartum women.

What It Aims to Change or Add

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.

  • It allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to reviewing immigration enforcement practices to prevent harm to mothers in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

  • It applies as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
