What this amendment would do

Mrs. Murray submitted amendment SA 890, which proposes adding a new section to title III of the concurrent resolution.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting public safety.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

These changes can be made for legislation relating to supporting public safety and promoting public health.

This may include reviewing practices that divert law enforcement officers from countering fentanyl, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
