What this amendment would do

Mrs. Murray submitted the SA 887 amendment to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 7 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.

  • It adds a new section to title III that creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund.

  • Its purpose is to support life-saving biomedical research funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, other appropriate levels, and the pay-as-you-go ledger for specific legislation.

  • This applies as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
