What this amendment would do

Mrs. Murray submitted amendment SA 885 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025. The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to protecting American workers who keep us safe from nuclear waste.

What it aims to change or add:

  • It adds a new section to the end of title III of the budget resolution.
  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make adjustments and revise allocations, aggregates, and the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation that protects American workers who keep us safe from nuclear waste.
  • It requires that any such legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
